CONCEPT
Laura Visentin è nata a Bassano del Grappa in provincia di Vicenza. Il suo percorso scolastico è stato umanistico per la sua grande passione per la letteratura e le arti in genere. Si è laureata nel 1993 in Materie Letterarie presso l’Università di Padova.
L’interesse per il gioiello contemporaneo, sollecitato anche dal mondo scultoreo del padre, è piuttosto recente. Si è avvicinata a questo ambito alcuni anni fa, stimolata dalla necessità di creare pezzi che potessero esprimere il suo carattere e la sua personalità, con i quali cercare di trascrivere le sensazioni del mondo che la circonda.
L’imprenditorialità veneta le ha fatto scoprire il prodotto tecnologico-industriale delle molle che ha rivisitato scoprendolo oggetto dall’inedita finalità artistica e decorativa. Ha frequentato, negli anni, corsi di approfondimento delle tecniche base e di pigmento presso la Scuola di Gioiello Contemporaneo Alchimia di Firenze e presso lo Studio della designer Carla Riccoboni.
Laura Visentin was born in Bassano del Grappa in the province of Vicenza. Because of her passion for art and literature she chose the Human Sciences as her school subjects. She graduated in 1993 in Literature at Padova University.
Her recent interest in contemporary jewellery has also been influenced by her father’s artistic and sculptural world.
She chose contemporary jewellery years ago stimulated by the necessity to create pieces that would express her character and personality through which she tries to reproduce the sensations of the worls that is around her.
Thanks to the entrepreneurial industry in the Veneto she discovered the mechanical spring which she revisited discovering its artistic and decorative values.
In recent years she attended corses in basic techniques and pigment at the Alchimia School of contemporary jewellery in Florence and at the Studio of Carla Riccoboni.

L’ispirazione è per Laura Visentin il movente di ogni atto creativo, indipendente dalle tendenze e dalle mode. Esso deriva da un bagaglio di esperienze che quotidianamente si accumula e che la curiosità consente di immagazzinare. Nasce spesso in maniera improvvisa e diventa il motore trainante, quasi la scintilla che poi determina la creazione di un oggetto.
L’intreccio e la lavorazione di elementi tecnici come le molle, hanno fatto scoprire alla designer inedite interazioni con l’argento che si sono tradotte in creazioni particolari ispirate al suo personale concetto di gioiello destinato alla donna contemporanea.
Il fatto che Laura si sia avvicinata al gioiello contemporaneo dopo esperienze diverse e che la sua formazione non sia di base orafa forse, in qualche modo, ha favorito l’avvicinamento a questo mondo complesso e ricco di sfaccettature con l’entusiasmo del neofita.
L’oreficeria di ricerca rappresenta per lei l’essenza della creatività italiana e in essa trovano armonica sintesi gli aspetti legati all’enorme bagaglio storico della tradizione orafa italiana, gli aspetti più innovativi legati al design e alla progettazione più spinta ed eccentrica.
Inspiration for Laura Visentin is what moves every creative undertaking and it derives from a set of experiences she gathers every day, experiences her curiosity prompts her to store away. She thinks inspiration is detached from trends and fashions and often appears when you least expect it, and it becomes the driving force that sparks the creation of an object.
For Laura, linking and working with tecnic elements such as springs has led her to discover brand-new interaction with silver, which have allowed her to come up with distintive creations inspired by her concept of jewellery for the contemporary woman.
The fact that she came to contemporary jewellery after a number of different experiences, and that her basic training lies outside the sphere of the goldsmith’s art might, in a sense, have made it easier for her to make her way into this rich, multi-faceted sector, with the enthusiasm of a newcomer.
Experimental jewellery-making today represents for her the very essence of italian creativity, offering a smooth blend of aspect linked to the enormous experience and profound jewellery making tradition in Italy and the more innovative aspects linked to design and the more estreme, eccentric side of it.
